Cafe Spiaggia Gets New Menu; Offers Lolla Goers Special Treat

Have you been to Cafe Spiaggia lately? The restaurant, helmed by James Beard winner and Top Chef Master contestant Tony Mantuano, has undergone a makeover of Italian proportions. After 12 years since the last refresher, the cafe was due for a breath of new life and, with inspiration from the cafes lining the Piazza San Marco in Venice, will allow guests to experience a more relaxed atmosphere.

New table tops, shades, lighting, banquettes and more got the treatment with beautiful chenille, leather, woods, etched glass and more. But more exciting, really, is executive chef Sarah Grueneberg’s new menu. It features a number of small plates under four new categories: Cicchetti (snacks and sides, like tapas), Crostini (sandwiches), Zuppa (soup) e Formaggi (cheese). But there’s also fantastic thin-crust pizzas; beautifully fresh salads; gorgeous housemade pastas; grilled meats; and, of course, vino.

And this weekend through Foodie, anyone with a Lollapalooza wristband or ticket stub can book a lunch at Cafe Spiaggia, show their Lolla pass and get a complimentary small plate item from the new menu. Change really is good.
